My homestay was great, the family I lived with were very welcoming and offered me a good challenge of practicing my Spanish at our meals together. If a homestay is not something you are interested in, I also heard positive things about the local hostels from other students.
Bariloche is awesome, it is so incredibly beautiful and there is so much to do. Much more than you can probably imagine. You should really go visit! I had such a great experience there and look forward to going back again someday.
