Opis kurzu

This three week debate program offers students, whether experienced or inexperienced in debate, the opportunity to immerse themselves in the exciting academic world of debate.

Combining interactive workshops with professional coaching and a variety of formal and informal debating opportunities students will be able to take part in a stimulating experience second to none.
Whether beginners or seasoned veterans, our summer students will benefit from expert tuition in the art of public speaking, covering all aspects of debate including delivery, organisation, evidence analysis, argument invention and debating theory.

Acquire the ability and confidence to communicate effectively
Learn techniques from leading debate coaches
Take part in energetic debates on exciting contemporary issues
Learn valuable skills including critical thinking and persuasive reasoning
Debate at the historic University of St Andrews, Cambridge and Yale debating chambers
Workshops range from the most basic of introductions and public speaking techniques to advanced argument theory and the intricacies of formal British Parliamentary debate, lead by leading debates coaches who will make sure students are actively debating every day.

As entry into the world’s leading universities becomes increasingly competitive, many top institutions now demand that applicants have the ability to think critically and articulate their views. Debating encourages students to express themselves with confidence and flair, both academically and in all aspects of their lives and is a highly respected and beneficial academic skill for anyone to posses.

ISSOS sa nachádza v New Havene a je jednou z najobľúbenejších škôl v USA. Táto škola sa špecializuje na učenie !of Angličtina pre medzinárodných študentov ako ste vy. Veľkosť triedy v tejto škole je veľmi malá (20 študentov maximum) a pre všetkých učiteľov je !of Angličtina materinským jazykom. Our summer program at the prestigious Yale University is located in New Haven, Connecticut. The campus is set on 265 acres and provides many amenities for students during their stay. More importantly, Yale provides a safe campus where students can enjoy a certain amount of freedom and experience everything it has to offer. Yale's University campus provides students with the opportunity to explore the many University buildings, shop in the small university town that plays host to some well-known brands as well as other boutique shops, and enjoy the variety of cafes and restaurants.

ISSOS International Summer Schools are amazing. The staff are incredibly welcoming. The teachers are engaging and encouraging and their classes are interesting and dynamic. The accommodation is safe and comfortable. The location was wonderful and there is the opportunity to go on fun and interesting trips. I would recommend ISSOS to anyone who wants to practise and improve their English skills, study interesting academic and elective classes, meet friends from lots of different nationalities and have so much fun!

ISSOS at Yale is set within the grounds of Yale University. Students are housed in the historic Trumbull College which provides them with a very comfortable and safe ‘home away from home’ for the duration of the three-week program. Trumbull is one of Yale’s most beautiful and most intimate residential colleges. It is said that James Gamble Rogers, who designed nine of Yale’s twelve residential colleges, considered Trumbull his masterpiece.

All students will be housed in Trumbull College with its oak paneled common room facilities, libraries and lawns that students can take full advantage of during their stay.
